Now I'm going to teach her to play BASEBALL!!!!

Hello friends and family!

Beth and Katherine are doing very well. Beth has been sleeping on the baby's schedule. As you can imagine, this means that she is sleeping and awake at odd hours. The good news is that Katherine is already sleeping 2 1/2 to 4 hours at a stretch at night. So far, this post-pregnancy recovery has been much easier than the first time. This time around we had a lot of loving help from my Mom, Debbie, and Beth's Mom, Mimi. My Mom was here for the first week after Katherine's birth, and Mimi was here for about a week and a half after Mom left. Mimi left last Thursday and now we are adjusting to having to do all the work ourselves again! :-)

I thought I would share something fun that Geoffrey said about Katherine a few days ago. As I mentioned earlier, Geoffrey has been very excited about having a new sister. He loves his sis, and says so every day. One afternoon a few days ago, I was changing Katherine's diaper on the dining room changing table (we have a station set up upstairs and down) and Geoffrey was there watching and making silly faces at Kat. When Geoffrey stuck his tongue out at Katherine, she also happened to stick her tongue out at the same time! Geoffrey, who had on several occasions announced his intentions to teach Katherine everything he knows, was delighted by this and exclaimed, "Daddy! I taught Katherine how to stick out her tongue! Now I'm going to teach her to play baseball!"

All the best,

Matt

Welcome to our Web Log - Welcome Katherine!

Welcome to Matt and Beth.com. We've recently decided to simplify the look and feel of our personal website. So, sorry if you're dissapointed that this new version does not look as "slick" as the last version!

We've recently celebrated the arrival of our 2nd child, a daughter! Who was born on July 4th and clocked in at an impressive 10 pounds, 2.5 oz. Beth and Katherine are doing very well and the baby is gaining weight again after having lost about 1 pound in the hospital. At our 2 week check up yesterday, Kat was 10 lbs, 6 oz after having dropped to 9 lbs and around 6 oz two weeks prior.

Here are some pics! As you can see, our son, Geoffrey is a proud big brother!
